Woolish Trails Club & Susi Sosinad: our first hike in Kloogarand

On October 12th, we took our first steps on the Woolish Trails Club path together with Susi Sosinad. Starting the tradition of quarterly Woolish event series where community meets nature, good thoughts, and warm wool.

The day began with a train ride from Tallinn to Kloogarand. The city was still half-asleep that Sunday morning as our colorful hikers slowly gathered on the platform at Balti Station, wrapped up in soft Woolish sweaters and wool hats. Excitement buzzed in the air – everyone was ready for a day outdoors!

Once on board, we kicked things off with sharing our expectations for the day. Laughter quickly filled the train. That's a no surprise, since Woolish fans know how wool makes you feel comfortable and at home.

Activity cards & nature reflections

Midway through the hike, Susi Sosinad guides handed out activity cards that sparked conversations about the connection between people and nature. As we chatted in pairs, we began to notice the small, beautiful details around us - the kind we might usually overlook.

The conversation cards were a lovely way to bring mindfulness into the journey and open up new topics along the trail. Meanwhile, our Woolish merino hats kept the wind out so our thoughts could wander freely.

A pause by the lake

Our break by Lake Klooga was the perfect place to slow down and take a breath. Everyone found their own way to recharge – enjoying the sunlight, watching swans glide across the water, or having a small snack. Even in the wind, our Woolish sweaters and scarves kept us warm and wrapped in a comforting sense of calm. It was a moment where time seemed to stop.

Through Klooga village & into nature

As we passed through Klooga village, we noticed how human life and nature flow in rhythm together. The 11 km trail felt surprisingly easy, thanks to the comfort of Woolish knitwear – merino wool keeps you cozy but never too hot while moving. Spirits stayed high the whole way, especially with our four-legged hiking buddy cheering everyone up with its wagging tail!

Warming up with a picnic

We wrapped up the day with a cozy picnic – tasty snacks, hot tea, music, and shared stories. We toasted sandwiches over an open fire and ended on a sweet note with cinnamon-sugar apples and marshmallows, bringing back childhood memories.

The whole day reminded us that Woolish isn’t just about knitwear – it’s a feeling. A warm experience, a companion for everyday adventures, and something that keeps both your body and your heart warm.

What to wear for a hike?

To stay comfortable and warm, we recommend:

/// Layers – go for natural materials, for example merino wool sweater that keep you warm and let your skin breathe.

/// A hat and scarf – natural wool is best for protection from wind and chill.

/// Comfortable shoes – suitable for forest paths, muddy trails, or sandy ground.

/// Wool socks and gloves – especially helpful on crisp, windy days.

And don’t forget to pack:

/// Water or a warm drink – to stay hydrated and keep the warmth flowing.

/// A light snack – nuts, fruit, or sandwiches to keep your energy up.

Good preparation keeps you warm, comfortable, and ready to enjoy every bit of your Woolish Trails Club adventure!
