ENVIRONMENT
Woolish is circular economy orientated to create a better future. Our aim is to reduce waste and pollution by keeping materials, products, and resources in use for as long as possible. We consider a product’s End of Life — what will happen to materials and products when they are discarded and can no longer be reused.
CIRCULAR FASHION
An approach to product development that allows products and materials to be reused, recycled, and regenerated. Circular design is a holistic design approach that considers what happens to products at their end of life. Circular products are designed to ‘close the loop’ meaning they: minimize waste and pollution, remain in use for as long as possible and can be regenerated into new resources. Rather than making new products with new materials, circular fashion aims to keep products in use for as long as possible via channels like renting, repairing, resale, and swapping.
ZERO WASTE
There's a lot to talk about when it comes to zero waste production. What does zero waste mean to Woolish? Long story short, we make sure that we will use every single strand of the high-quality merino wool that our knits are made of. In the production process we don´t have to use ready-made fabric but we produce it ourselves according to garment design.
BIODEGRADABLE
Wool is a natural and renewable resource. As long as there is grass to eat, sheep will continue to produce wool. When wool is disposed of, it will naturally decompose in soil in a matter of months or years. Biodegradable materials are materials that can either be broken down into simpler substances or can completely break down to minerals through natural processes. The wool we use is 100% recyclable. When your item has really fulfilled its purpose you basically can mix it into your garden compost. It’s a super eco-material, 100% natural, renewable and biodegradable.
